Peek-A-Book’s Kid Lit Fest celebrated children’s literature, promoting reading and a love for books. Renowned authors like Jerry Pinto, Nandita DaCunha, Lubaina Bandukwala, Lavanya Karthik, Malika Ravikumar, and Imtiaz Anees inspired children by sharing their book inspirations. The fest offered a unique opportunity for kids to engage with their favorite authors and learn about writing and publishing. Amar Chitra Katha’s team also inspired middle schoolers to create comics, while students participated in a Quiz competition, adding to the excitement!

Storytelling is an art they say and a good storyteller is one who is able to weave his tale with just the right amount of imagination, humour, drama and mystery to keep his audience engaged. On 30^th July, our school organized a ‘Basic Training’ session on ‘Understanding Child Sexual Abuse’ in association with Arpan NGO, for parents of the pre-primary section to grade 12. With the thought that prevention begins with awareness, this session sensitized parents on various aspects of Child Sexual Abuse. Resource persons from Arpan did a wonderful job explaining to parents how they can safeguard their children from unsafe incidences, both online and offline. More than 400 parents benefitted through this session.

Our STEAM Exhibition this year was organized to honour Padma Vibhushan Dr Jayant Narlikar’s vision and acknowledge his outstanding contributions in the field of popularizing science.

As per the revised National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, schools have been directed to organise “Bagless Days” for students.
Bagless days are being encouraged throughout the year for various types of enrichment activities involving arts, quizzes, sports and vocational crafts. This initiative is meant to promote practical and vocational learning.
Keeping this in mind, JML School organized a “Bagless Day” on 25th June 2022 where grades 5 to 7 were involved.
Students were engaged in varied activities ranging from Math Housie, “Tie and Dye” in Art, “Colour Spectrum” activity in Physics, “A freedom fighter who inspires me” in History, “Puppet show and puppet making” in Indian Languages, “Envelope making” in SUPW etc. Music and Sports were an integral part of this day.
We were privileged to have a young, acclaimed writer Mast. Karnav Rastogi address our students. He inspired them to write and help him spread awareness regarding his mission to save the planet.
The event was a huge success and we have received some heartwarming messages from parents requesting us to organise such events frequently.

At JML we organised a uniquely fun and interesting activity for our students by inviting the renowned Citi-CSMVS ‘Museum on Wheels’.

The Citi-CSMVS ‘Museum on Wheels’ is an outreach initiative designed to reach audiences beyond the walls of the museum in Mumbai. Currently, the bus is hosting the ‘In Tune: The Journey from Sound to Music’ exhibition curated by CSMVS in partnership with NCPA. By inviting the ‘Museum on wheels’ to the school, we enabled our students from across primary and secondary to class 8 to visit the bus and learn more about the origin story of sound and music.

Here is a look at how our primary students spread the message of conservation of earth, soil and water this Earth Day. Our students celebrated with a no-bag day and instead, every student brought a sapling to school in a small pot. Students participated in cleaning and tidying up their classrooms and those who lived close by carpooled or walked to school. Students also engaged in other social awareness activities like best out of waste, creating their own compost bin, etc.

The students of JML School celebrate STEM Day to acknowledge those who have made significant contributions in the world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) every year. This year too, JML School has concentrated on extending curricular knowledge to daily practical applications through the one-of-its-kind virtual event honouring Dr Homi J Bhabha’s efforts as a nuclear physicist in the field of Science & Technology.
