PHILOSOPHY
Learning never stops. Commencing from the time we draw our first breath till we let out our last, we are always learning and adapting.
We believe that Education simply cannot be imparted through rote learning alone. It has to blend concepts with investigation and practical learning. We also believe education encompasses teaching children to remain well-grounded despite their privileged background.
Bloomingdales Pre-primary, which follows the play-way method of learning, exemplifies this philosophy, where our young learners are taught academic concepts through a practical and self-exploratory hands-on approach.
We carry this forward at JML School, where experiential learning plays an important role in the understanding of concepts, be it through project work, in the laboratory, on a stage, or on the sports field.
An excerpt from Albert Einstein’s speech at the State University of New York in 1936, Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one learned in school, best sums up our philosophy. To know more about the speech that forms the foundation stone of our thinking, click here.
VISION
To fill a niche in the education system which provides a good blend between academics, and skill-building, whilst inculcating in students, both traditional values and contemporary thought.
MISSION
To instill an innate curiosity in our young learners
To continuously upgrade teaching skills through ongoing training programmes for teachers.
To inculcate amongst its students, a relevant value system.
To be in all things, contemporary.
VALUES
Blend of Tradition and Contemporary Thought
We introduce all our students to the great sages, warriors, teachers, and kings who have been a focal point of history, culture, philosophy, and values with the endeavour for them to imbibe their greatness. Blending these values with contemporary learning methodology helps our students apply the wisdom of the past, to handle the challenges of the 21st Century.
Global Stewardship
We shape our students to be global citizens with awareness, empathy, and sensitivity towards our environment and planet. With climate change and the health of our planet, being a burning issue in the 21st century, as never before, we teach our students from the toddler stage about being mindful of our surroundings and the environment as a whole. Caring for all life, be it human, plant or animal, and instilling a sense of responsibility and duty towards them all, is a value that runs through the very fabric of our institution.
Joyful Learning
We recognize that childhood needs to be full of joy and thus we strive to ensure that our young learners are in a cheerful environment conducive to holistic development and growth.
